Pre-drilled center hole - used to secure the tool to rafter
Recommended - washer head wood screw, #10 x 3 1/2" (not included).
Center of tool aligns with the center of the rafter and is secured with the wood screw, when placing the first 3 rows of T&G boards.
Re-positioning the tool while securing the first three rows of boards is required and depends on how you layout your boards. After the first 3 rows are secured, the screw is no longer needed and you place the tool between the rafters using it as a clamp, which holds the boards in place without securing the tool.
Direction of tool - On ceilings, the short end of tool faces the ceiling, the long end faces the floor. On walls, the short end of tool faces the wall, the long end faces the installer
